Loading a Corpus into #LancsBox X

#LancsBox X allows users to load and work with their own corpora. A wide range of formats are supported including txt, docx, pdf, pptx, xlsx, and XML.

How to load your own corpora into #LancsBox X:

1) Prepare your corpus in a folder. Your corpus may be a single file or multiple files.

2) Open #LancsBox X. The KWIC tool should automatically open. If no tool is loaded, open any tool from the main page (KWIC tool is recommended).

3) In the top left of the page, just below the search bar, the previously selected corpus should appear.

4) Clicking here will show all corpora that you have previously loaded. To load a new corpus, select ‘add corpora’.

5) To load your own corpus, navigate to the 'Load' tab at the top of the window. 

6) Add a name for your corpus, and locate your corpus data folder by clicking the 'browse' button.

7) Select 'Load' to import your corpus to #LancsBox X. Details about the corpus can be viewed by selecting 'More details'.

8) Select 'Continue' to navigate back to the main page and begin exploring your corpus!
